Orrish Finance Expands Rural Lending Network to 120 Branches

RAIPUR — Orrish Finance, the non-banking financial arm of Orrish Group, announced that its branch network has crossed 120 locations across Chhattisgarh, Madhya Pradesh and parts of Odisha, as it deepens its focus on small-business, vehicle and household credit.

The company added 28 branches over the past year, the majority in semi-urban and rural markets where access to formal, transparently priced credit remains limited. It said its assets under management had grown to roughly ₹1,950 crore, with asset quality held within target ranges.

"Our customers are shopkeepers, transporters, farmers and first-time borrowers," said Sunita Bhagwat, Managing Director of Orrish Finance. "They do not need exotic products. They need fair terms, quick decisions, and a relationship they can trust. That is the entire business."

The company attributed its growth to a hybrid model that pairs local relationship officers with digital underwriting, allowing faster loan decisions while keeping a human point of contact. It also emphasised responsible-lending practices, including transparent pricing and structured borrower-education efforts.

Orrish Finance said it intends to continue measured expansion, targeting another 30 to 40 branches over the next two years, while investing in collections technology and risk analytics to maintain portfolio health through the cycle.

The company operates under the broader governance framework of Orrish Group and reiterated its commitment to financial inclusion as a core part of its mandate rather than a peripheral activity.
