Shivasha Foundation Opens Three New Skilling Centres for Rural Youth

RAIPUR — The Shivasha Foundation, the social-impact arm of Orrish Group, inaugurated three new vocational skilling centres across rural Chhattisgarh, expanding a programme intended to improve employability among young people in the region.

The centres will offer training in construction trades, electrical and plumbing work, healthcare support roles, hospitality, and basic digital literacy. Together they are expected to train more than 2,000 students each year, with a focus on candidates from low-income households and first-generation learners.

"Opportunity should not depend on which village you were born in," said Meera Orrish, Trustee of the Shivasha Foundation. "These centres are our attempt to close that gap, one skilled, confident young person at a time. We measure success by placements, not enrolments."

The Foundation said it had partnered with employers, including several Orrish Group companies, to align curricula with real hiring needs and to provide apprenticeships and placement support. Around half the seats in each cohort are reserved for women.

In addition to vocational training, the centres will host health-awareness camps and financial-literacy sessions for the surrounding communities, extending their role beyond classroom instruction.

The Shivasha Foundation, funded through an annual allocation linked to group profitability, said the new centres bring the total number of facilities it operates to nine, with further expansion planned as the programme matures.
